     Polish Coat of Arms

People classified themselves under various groups and clans even in the early stage of thirteenth century. Even polish people followed the same culture. The mielzynski family who were the native polish divided themselves into various tribes and each family had a polish coat of arms to distinguish themselves from others. The number of coats that were in existence during the middle age was relatively very low. Based on the customs of the family different versions and colors of the coat of arms were in practice. These variations were only trivial. The Polish coat of arms had some archetypal features like shield, helm, crest, crown etc. But it was found that due to the influence of German and French culture have paved way for some other features which includes mantling, mottos, supporters and compartments etc. These revolutionize were in the peak only during late 18th and early 19th century. The oldest known polish coat of arms had the dominating color has red. These arms contained blue as secondary colors with red as its background. This practice was not seen in any other European customs till now. it was found that some polish coat of arms had the habit of some geometrical shapes embedded in them which includes Maltese crosses, stars, arrows, horse shoes, crescent, scythes etc. the  arms with heart shaped shield were used to symbolize the royal family. These polish coat of arms were inherited as unbroken lineage. The father’s coat of arms becomes heir to their children after them. No evidence was shown related to women innate. They neither inherited it from their mother nor take up coat of arms of their husband. Generally these customs were common to one particular tribe or clans than a separate family. So, many handled the practice of denoting both their family name as well as their coat of arms.
